Eve Gubbins Greater Chernobyl Cause Donation

On Friday last we held a non-uniform day to assist one of our own; Eve Gubbins.  Eve will travel to Kazakhstan during October with the Greater Chernobyl Cause to work in an orphange.  Well done Eve, all at Kilmagner are very proud of you.  We look forward to seeing the photographs when you get back.

Active School Week

Last week Kilmagner National School participated in Active School Week. This is a nationwide event aimed at getting children involved in fun and inclusive physical activity. Johnson & Johnson Visit

The children of 3rd – 6th recently had a whale of a time at the Depuy Plant in Ringnaskiddy which forms part of the industrial giant J&J.  This visit was organised by Chris and Denise O Brien. Thank you!

On the day, the children visited the plant floor, the innovation department and finally a wind turbine.  We also met some staff members including a former young scientist of the year and we received a talk on renewable energy from Cork Hurling Legend; Donal Óg Cusack (pic 3 below).

2018 Swimming Gala

Well done to our 2018 Swimming Team (pictured below) who recently competed in the Fermoy Swimming Club Annual Easter Gala.  The team recorded some very impressive times and collected 5 medals. The Gala was expertly organised by Fermoy Swimming Club and thank you to Miss Howard for supervising the children on the day.  Maith Sibh Go Léir!

Fire station visit

Junior and Senior Infants visited Fermoy Fire Station today. They got a chance to become fire fighters using the hose and travelling in the fire engine.
